During the day they work hard like men. In the evening, they transform into what they feel like: women. In their communities they were despised and rejected. Only at 1,600 metres above sea level, on the coffee plantations of the Colombian Andes, have they found a refuge where they can be free and be themselves.
Nevertheless, the community of transwomen still has to fight for their recognition both before the law and among the population which is still strongly influenced by tradition.
