Young Creative Awards 2022
The Young Creative Awards have returned!
Like the Fridays For Future movement and its creator Greta Thunberg, the festival believes that it is impossible to solve a crisis without treating it as a crisis. We therefore invite the younger generation of filmmakers to create films, series and videos that challenge political actors and citizens.
Every year, the Deauville Green Awards brings together key individuals from various backgrounds to encourage the audio-visual world to commit to the ecological transition: advertising and communication professionals, fictional and documentary filmmakers, scientists and sustainable development specialists, associations and the general public.
For the past few years, the festival has also been committed to bridging the gap between different generations within the audiovisual sector. A link between the energy of committed young creators and the experience of more established professionals who have been in the industry for many years.
Last year we saw an exciting competition with almost 500 applications. Once again, in 2022 the floor is being opened up to young creators, videographers and filmmakers, who are using the power of change-oriented storytelling to engage with the pressing issue of climate change and the destruction of ecosystems.
This free competition aims to reward the most impactful and inspiring productions created by this new generation, to help them see their work as a vector for change and to encourage them to share their environmental message with the world.
Who can participate?
The competition is open to filmmakers under 30 years of age, who are in the early stages of beginning their professional career and whose production on environmental issues has not yet been financially supported by an established production company, broadcaster or distributor.
The Young Creative Awards competition is therefore open to all types of self-broadcast audiovisual productions of more than 1 minute - provided that the message of awareness-raising and advocacy is clear: short and feature-length fiction films, short and feature-length documentaries, web series, videos and music videos are all accepted formats.
How to participate?
Enter your film by submitting your application on FilmFreeway, before Sunday 22nd of April 2022!
You can also share your entry on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube, using the hashtag #YoungCreativeAwards and tagging @DeauvilleGreenAwards, to further amplify your film's message and raise awareness about these unavoidable issues!
The Award
The Young Creative Awards will grant one trophy to the best film according to the following criteria: the originality of the production, the technical quality (e.g. image, editing and sound) and the effectiveness of the message to encourage the audience to take concrete action on environmental issues.
The winner of the Young Creative Awards will thus benefit from high international visibility amongst key audiovisual professionals from around the world, including winners of the Deauville Green Awards competitions, broadcasters, journalists, producers, directors, environmental experts and the general public.
In addition, the winner will receive feedback on the film from the esteemed Young Creative Awards jury, which will be announced in May 2022...stay tuned for more information!
Announcement of the winner
The winning film will be announced at the 10th edition of the Deauville Green Awards on the 15th of June 2022 during a special livestream and will be presented with a trophy during the dedicated awards ceremony. In the case where the winner could not be in Deauville, the trophy will be sent to them.
